Public Character Knowledge:
Rosalina Astrium is a quiet Aasimar light domain cleric who appeared in Underhaven not long ago. She carries herself gently and politely, often offering healing or small acts of help to those around her. But however many people can get the impression that she still seems somewhat lost, as if she is still trying to understand the underground settlement and her place within it. Despite this, she remains kind and patient, doing her best to navigate life in Underhaven.
Description: Adolia Ambrosia was born for a bad purpose. Despite her family being well-liked in their small town due to owning a small business, her parents were resentful. Her father's smuggling business was revealed years before she was born by an Aasimar traveling mercenary captain. Their well-liked reputation suffered as a result of the scandal, and months later, when the captain returned, Adolia's mother approached him strategically rather than out of love. Nine months later, right afterwards, Adolia was born with golden hair and radiant azure blue eyes with a hint of gold at birth, which demonstrated her celestial ancestry. After holding her once, her father only said one thing, which was "Good." As the years went by, Adolia was brought up as a tool to bring down the man who had wronged them in the past. She was kept in a small room and instructed to always obey, sit upright, smile softly, and never ask questions. Tears and childish curiosity were punished, and she soon discovered that complete obedience was the only path to have any affection at all from her father and her mother. Many years later the mercenary captain came back to town when she was eight years old. Under the guise of reconciliation, her father invited him and got Adolia ready to refer to him as "Father" and say that she had been abandoned. However, she hesitated when the time came. The man looked startled, not cruel, and when young Adolia hesitated, her father panicked. The confrontation escalated quite quickly and violently with accusations, shouting, and eventually a blade was drawn out. Adolia watched as her mother whispered for her to smile as her father fatally stabbed the mercenary, her biological father before her young innocent soul. Due to this horrible incident, Adolia lost her voice and remained silent for many years afterwards, she didn't talk, cry, or scream at all, she was left traumatized.
By the time she was sixteen, her father intended to use her once more in a public hearing to bring up previous charges. Adolia had enough and ran into the night after realizing she would never be able to get away from them. Then a wandering Light Cleric named Aelara discovered her after she had been alone for days, healed her body and spirit, took her in, and cared for her in a motherly but still mentor-like way. Adolia started to worship Sola and Lunara, Adolia drew strength from their light after learning from Aelara how to use her radiant power as a gift rather than a weapon. One evening outdoors and away from her parents' protective gaze for the first time, Adolia decided on a new name for herself to start a new life, Rosalina. It was delicate, heavenly, and wholly hers. She added Astrium to it because she belonged to the stars more than she ever belonged to blood. And after completing her training, Rosalina Astrium left Aelara's house at the age of twenty-four to travel and begin a new life. As a Light Domain Cleric, Rosalina now traveled, healing and guarding innocent souls who needed aid. However, one's tranquility is rarely able to endure forever due to fate. One year later, Rosalina vanished from the surface world while traveling. She doesn’t really know, nor can she remember if it was an accident, divine intervention, or something much stranger. She was no longer under the open sky she cherished when she opened her eyes again. Rather, she ended up in the underground community known as Underhaven, below the surface of the earth. She had no recollection of the surface at all. Rosalina had no memory of her former life, no mentor, and no family. The kindness she learned and the light she once embraced still lingered within her, even though the past that had shaped her had now been erased from her memory completely. Rosalina, who now resides in Underhaven, searches for purpose in a place far from the sky she once loved so much.
