Character Appearance: Alderbark appears as a somewhat towering 6' 10" (Six Foot, Ten Inches) tall Arbora, with barkskin resembling oak trees, and a green leafy-moss beard with pink petals growing. His eye color is a gentle gold tone.
Character Personality: Alderbark's personality to summarize is that he is a kind and gentle Arbora, who prefers not to fight. Sometimes he can be found talking to trees, usually whenever he is busy reading a book, telling said tree what kind of book it is.
Alderbark likes to cook often just to see people smile, or visit farms to check up on the crops wellbeing. Despite having an innate fear of fire due to his natural instincts, Alderbark has worked up the courage to be near small open flames, since it could matter if he needs to make a campfire in the middle of the wilderness and cook a meal for anyone with him.
Due to not needing to eat or breathe, Alderbark doesn’t spend as much money, and sometimes tries to preserve as much as he can.
Despite not needing to eat, Alderbark loves honey related treats, snacks, and tea, just for the sweet goodness.
Character Background:
-Grew up in a small house in the Underhaven, a section near the chapel area, was grown/uprooted in a small garden in front of the house. His parents were based on dogwood and oak trees, but he looks mostly oak.
-Parents both had cooking related jobs, and eventually opened a small cafe in Underhaven when Alderbark was 35.
-They moved into the aforementioned cafe due to money related issues when Alderbark was around 45 years old.
-At some point when Alderbark was 75, his family cafe, Plantera Pastries, started getting a bit popular, and he started being taught how to cook simple meals, and thus enjoyed doing it.
-About 75 years later, Alderbark’s parents close the cafe for good, as business started to become lacking, and they both wished to settle down and just live a calm life, Alderbark follows along with them for the next 25 years to grow a small garden.
-Alderbark turned his 175th year a few days ago, and decides he wishes to start making his mark on the world, though he knows how to cook some recipes, he was mostly regulated to waiter work, and served most of his food to family friends as gifts.
-Alderbark while growing up was an avid reader of some of Windsor Vicaro’s books and writings. Even if he never really cared for some of them, his love for reading stemmed from keeping himself busy and occupied if he had nothing else needing his time.
-Alderbark was also saddened to find out recently that the author passed away, despite the news upsetting him, he eventually decides to make sure every book by him is treated with the most respect a book should receive, as it was what the author would’ve wanted, books to be handled carefully.
-Alderbark’s relationship with the Ringmaster of the Underhaven could be summed up as somewhat skittish around the punisher and entertainment master, yet also great respect for bringing justice to the place.
-Alderbark’s respect for the Ringmaster stems from the fact his family were recently threatened one night while they were relaxing at home. A few thieves broke in and were caught going through their house by his parents, and his parents got injured during the break-in. Alderbark was happy they were brought to justice, albeit a bit violently.
-Alderbark despite his displeasure towards violence, does enjoy the shows put on by the Ringmaster, it serves as a reminder to not get on the city’s bad side, yet it also provides him with something to look forward to, seeing as he does somewhat abhor most criminals.
