Paelen grew up under the care of two loving and caring parents, among three other siblings. Since his early days he has been a kind person, sharing his toys, helping others study and sharing his rations when he was able to. As he grew older his parents instructed him on the arts of self defense and medicine. During his times of study he also came across scripture on different beliefs and religions, finding himself most intrigued by Lunara, the goddess of the moon. Eventually Paelen decided to turn to the Pantheon Chapel to learn further and persue the path of an acolyte of Lunara to become a cleric.

During the years of study, he every now and then made his way down from the chapel to the city. Trying his best to mingle with other people his age, though usually failing already at basic conversation. Often the Barkeep Atlas would have to listen to his worries, or play wingman to get Paelen to speak to strangers. In return Paelen would help Atlas every now and then behind the bar or with cleaning after the last guest finally left.

Among his visits he made the aquaintance of Jacob Ironhart and his comrades, who patrol the Haven regularly as a kind of guardforce and militia. Offering his support whenever possible, be it through treating the groups injuries or train with them. Overtime developing a friendship based on mutual respect with Jacob.
