A resident of the Underhaven, known for generous acts and ominous origins.
Gonzo arrived to town decades ago as an orphan, arriving with his estranged uncle and the rest of the survivors of the failed attempt at mist travel. They forgot where they came from, why they left, but the Uncle remembered enough to hate his nephew, and dumped the troll toddler into the orphanage.
Gonzo lived in the orphanage for a brief period, until his 12th birthday, when he started to grow too physically large to call the fragile building his home. Still fond of the only home he knew, Gonzo began to aid foraging groups and local ranchers with the labor of growing and finding food, soon finding deep passion in the art of cooking. Gonzo shaped a reputation within the Underhaven as one of the best people to go to for a good meal, and often visited the orphanage to provide rations to kids.
There has been a recent change to his behavior, a creepy slouch and beady look in his eyes. His estranged Uncle has died recently, leaving his property behind for Gonzo to inherit. Some of which being relics from the caravan that they rode in with, and heirlooms from parents he never knew.
Gonzo has now opened a restaurant of his own, aptly named the 'Beastro'. Despite lacking any previous ties to religion, he now often speaks in eloquent tangents of grace, quoting some unknown entity he refers to as 'The Lion". He is leading something, and welcomes new members.
Gonzo is a fine cook within Underhaven, often seeing working with shady deal makers and shadowy hunters, a frequent hire of his being Mr. Hordrall (Emrir) who drags in fresh kills, hidden in tarps. He is optimistic, warm and compassionate to the world, but the lingering creepiness of his stare and bursts of anger leave an odd chill to those not used to it. By Underdark standards, he's a sweetpea.
