Public Character Knowledge:
Sirena is known as a heart throb throughout town. Dazzling those with her charm and outstanding performances. She is very much an upbeat and fun person to hang out with. She brings light and life to all the parties.
Sirena was the firstborn of Bel-Lothir Faeline and Reyna "Calamity" Faeline. Her father is a budding scholar of the arcane arts, and her mother is a practitioner of the arts in the forms of dance, song, and arcane magic. Sirena grew up in a world of magic and love. Despite being torn between academia and performance, she ultimately chose the stage as her light. This mostly came from the shows she and her family would attend at the Big Top, you know, when the Ringmaster wasn't torturing people. Sirena caught a glimpse of the jester, Lovely Ms. Led, as they would enter, and was transfixed by her at a very young age. Ever since, she has watched the young woman and has adopted and copied her mannerisms.
With her innate abilities in sorcery, Sirena brought life to her performances, earning the love of the crowds. This caught the attention of many suitors, but not the tiefling woman would pursue until one fateful day when one man appeared. He introduced himself as Rohan Wisegate, a procurer of the arts and a huge fan of Sirena Faeline. And Sirena... well, she was smitten with love.
The two went on magnificent dates, some daring and some quaint. It was enough for Sirena to think that perhaps Rohan might be the one for her. For a while, the two were a great couple. Rohan would give Sirena flowers after every show, they'd dote on each other and spend every waking minute together, until one day, it just stopped. Rohan stopped coming to her shows, stopped seeing her, just went silent. It wasn't until about a week later that he admitted he had found someone new and didn't know how to break it to Sirena. She slapped him and ran to the edge of the Underhaven, tears streaming down her face.
She sought advice from the Goddess of Love, Silruna, but because of her emotional state, her call was answered by something more sinister. In the place of the golden woman was a woman who looked similar but was shrouded in shadows. She reached a hand toward Sirena, her words soft and calming. She promised to take away all the pain she had received from Rohan. Sirena hesitantly agreed, and suddenly she felt no love, no empathy at all. She had no desire for romance or further, ultimately becoming a shell of her former self. So, while the patron did, in fact, heal her, she did so at a cost.
After the incident, she quit the theatre and took on small roles here and there. She maintained her usual personality to avoid alerting her family to the deal she had made. She began reading many books, trying to figure out exactly what happened to her. She ended up procuring a bunch of books by Windsor Vicaro and learned more about the surface and its dangers. This intrigued Sirena. She needed something new to focus on, so why not take up tasks on the surface or further in the caves? She has magic after all. She remembered her parents were close acquaintances of Godric Trapp, the Beast Tamer at the Big Top. She sought him out, intent on gathering more information about different creatures and on receiving proper training to travel to the surface and become a Scout throughout the city. She hoped that through this avenue, she could discover what entity had cursed her to no longer feel love and release its grip.
