The writing on the page, while attempting to be neat and precise, is jagged and inconsistently sized.
Going into this, I certainly expected trouble, but thought that with the party that had signed up, we could manage it. When it came time to prepare, we were missing two of our four members, one of which had double-booked themselves. Thankfully, we found replacements in time, and managed to assemble at the gate after the makeshift barricade I had requested to be assembled to try and control the flow of our enemies was completed.
I remember thinking myself ready for what was coming. What a fool I was.
A motley assortment of frayed animals charged us as soon as we opened the gates. Of note, Johnson bravely took the brunt of the punishment, and was forced to fall back to stand beside my summoned elementals, which took a decent amount of the pressure off of him until they fell, after which he was forced to try and seek respite over the barricade, to no avail.
During the course of the battle, my magic interacted with the mist a couple times, the first summoning a strangely ethereal nightmare creature that proved a near-deadly opponent, and the second horribly disfiguring me, resulting in the current quality of my writing.
Trying to use magic against this enemy is disheartening, but it's all I have. So I'll keep doing it, and hope that I can clean up whatever messes I make along the way.
