Born to a wretched mother who died during childbirth and an abusive, megalomaniacal father, somehow, Pyre Brimlight was born a hornless, pure white Tiefling. During her growing years, she learned to fend for herself in the lower planes until her father, the demon L’ltrik Br’mdark, decided to gain the power to ascend the lower planes by forcing everyone he could subject to make a Pact with him, where he would reap the benefits. He did this by stealing a portion of their souls and consuming them. Years later, after failing to defeat Orthm M’delek, a member of Asmodeus’s inner circle, L’ltrik Br’mdark returned home at the brink of death and found his daughter Pyre and choked her within an inch of her life, and began the process by which he stole her soul, but something was wrong. Usually, when L’ltrik Br’mdark stole a soul, he shoved his hand into someone’s chest and pulled out enough of the soul to leave the person alive. However, upon trying to steal Pyre’s soul, two strange energies began to clash within her. One demonic and fiery like her father’s, and one bright and calming like the only memory she had of her mother. As the combined energies surged through Pyre, she was forced to undergo a kind of metamorphosis. Her white skin turned a dark purple; it went from soft to rough, as tough as armor. Her eyes dimmed from red to maroon, to pitch black. Her body became more muscular and taller, and finally, from her head sprouted two pairs of horns. One pair grew from the back of her head and curved downwards; the other pair grew from the sides of her head in a curved spiral.
As Pyre’s soul began to tear, a blast of energy sprang forth from within her, stunning her father. In that second, Pyre took off running; she ran and ran and ran until she could no longer recognize where she was. As she looked up, she saw a ball of light so bright her eyes could barely handle it. As she walked around, she saw small creatures that crawled on the ground, as well as ones that soared in the air. Eventually, she found her way to a town, bustling with people of all ages. As Pyre took her first steps into civilization, a screeching voice pierced her ears: “IT'S A DEMONNNNN!”
Pyre fearfully turned around, thinking her Father had finally caught up to her, but she saw nothing. Pyre smiled as she turned around to see men with weapons fearfully inching towards her. “But,” Pyre began, as her smile began to quiver. “The demon isn’t here.”
