Backstory: 'Pale' and many others like her were taken from their homes in their youth, following their defeats to the powerful, ambitious, and rapidly growing House Maranni. They were forced into the House's penal unit, known as the 'Warrior-Slaves', and were used relentlessly as disposable soldiers until their eventual demise. Most died quickly, but those who managed to survive became great warriors, and eventually, some of the House's strongest.

After decades of endless fighting, death and servitude, a large group of Warrior Slaves organize an escape attempt that had been a century in the making. But some among them did not believe in betraying the House. A great battle ensued between them, and caught between both the loyal and the House's enforcers, only a fraction of those who fled the Underdark made it out alive.

'Pale' is one of them.

Despite convincing many that she was loyal to the House, inspiring the loyal with her ruthless and cold strength, she clawed her way to the surface, desperate to survive and escape the endless fighting. In doing so, she turned her back on many who had believed in her, including her own sister, who had opposed the Warrior-Slaves' attempts to escape.

Now 'Pale' is on the run, hunted and harried, working as a lone adventurer in the hopes one of day escaping the House's grasp forever. But the weight of her sins, the things she did in their service, and the people she left behind to escape it, still weigh heavy on her shoulders. And she will continue to feel their influence wherever she goes, lurking in the shadows or behind the eyes of deceivers. Whether they are truly are there or not.
