Rachel is a human woman standing at 5'4", with red hair tucked back a little and marble green eyes. She likes feathered hats, currently sporting a black one with a wide brim. She wears a long-sleeved dark green dress that goes down just below her knees, along with a black frilled coat and matching boots. And lastly, she appears to be carrying an umbrella... but it's actually a disguised musket. Accompanying her is her steel defender, a mechanical lizard with a frilled collar named Delilah.
Rachel is dramatic, excitable, and cunning. She loves to fix things - in fact she has a tendency to try to fix people she is close to. While she isn't what you might call book smart, she likes to search for and analyze things, and prefers to work with her hands. By contrast, she can be a bit of a hopeless romantic, and will remain fiercely loyal to those close to her. She is also very fond of defying traditions and helping people do just that.
Rachel is from a family where the Locke family has been established as gunsmiths for generations. She moved with her mother, a historian of the kingdom, after her parents separated when she was a child. She has spent most of her life there since, though she traveled frequently to visit her father and brother. Her father was a prominent gunsmith, and she enjoyed every opportunity to work in his smithy, which her father graciously allowed. The Lockes as a whole are known for being rather progressive and embracing technology.
Thanks to the influence from her father, she learned how to use a gun very early and had a growing interest in tinkering in general. But what she didn't expect was to find love as well, at a ball in the kingdom. This love interest was Percival Gatesley, who was from a rival family of the high guard who did not like firearms (Percival was the exception). Though the two were from rival families, they fell in love. He was rather timid and weak, but Rachel figured she could fix him, teaching him everything she could about tinkering and life in general. She even proposed to him eventually... but he said no, and wouldn't tell her why. They broke up, which devastated her.
Ever since then, Rachel has been carrying on as usual, traveling between her parents' residences. She has had many other suitors over the years, but she rejected them all, focusing more on her tinkering, eventually making herself a mechanical lizard companion named Delilah. Eventually she left for another world entirely, because she was not enthusiastic at all about dating yet another stuck up noble.
