Backstory: What's not to like about this guy? Mysteriously-gone-and-probably-dead wife, a strange child he's 90% sure he didn't father that came out of an egg, a lackluster support system and barely enough money to get by: Tovan's got it all. Once just a humble fisherman on the coast, this gruff fellow ended up in a rather strange arrangement out of the blue, one that he would rather not be in given that single fatherhood was a nightmare. As things stand, his daughter is literally hungry for coin; the only way he gets reprieve from the day-and-night scream-crying is to feed her whatever scraps of currency he has around.
Given he's running out now...yeah. He's gone and picked up adventuring because, frankly, fishing doesn't pay enough to cover the bizarre dietary requirements of his child. Somehow, somewhere, he can feel some prick with power laughing at him.
