Bunnardo Hoops's Origin
Born in the tangled warrens of a forest settlement deep in the untamed wilds of the interior, Bunnardo was always a little too much for harengon society, too restless, too distracted, and entirely too prone to pulling out his flute during perimeter watches.
Where most harengon guards were prized for their incredible speed, Bunnardo was faster than most, and so the Warren pointed him toward the settlement guard almost immediately. And for a handful of years he did his duty, spear in hand, ears on the treeline, while quietly mastering every instrument he could get his hands on, coaxed from the packs of rare traveling merchants who passed through.
The breaking point came during the Autumn Lantern Festival. Tasked with crowd security, Bunnardo instead climbed atop the central stage and performed an original composition that brought half the settlement to tears and the other half to dancing. It received a standing ovation. His captain did not stand.
He was gone by morning.
Still barely out of his youth, he has spent the last few years wandering the wilds, sleeping in haystacks, earning copper in roadside inns, and slowly learning that his fists are sometimes a more persuasive instrument.
