Note: This will be run as theater of the mind. Positioning and distances will be handled narratively and in zones rather than on a grid. The map provided is a reference, not a tactical battle map. Clear intent and concise actions will keep things moving.
A narrow stone spire rises from the edge of a great lake, its silhouette wrong in subtle ways. Windows appear where no floor should be. Chains hang uselessly from open air. Blue fabric flutters near the base, abandoned - or bait.
The tower once belonged to a kastromancer who tried to bind the spirit of the lake itself. He failed. Since then, the spire has changed hands many times, and none have kept it long.
Recently, goblin thieves have begun stealing silver from within, while something far larger now stalks the tower’s interior. Locals report strange blindness, warped distances, and echoes of singing that do not belong to men.
Your objective is simple:
Enter the tower, deal with whatever currently controls it, and either secure or neutralize the source of its danger.
What you know going in:
The tower’s interior does not match its exterior.
Time spent inside is dangerous; lingering worsens conditions.
The site is contested: goblins, giants, and something tied to the lake itself.
Escape is possible - but not guaranteed if you wait too long.
This is a contained, high-risk location.
Retreat is allowed. Hesitation has consequences.
-Describe what you want to do in RP and I can determine if it requires a check or not. Don't just ask for a check without describing what it is you're actually doing.
-Potions are BA for yourself, Action if given to someone else
-Holding a spell causes it to fizzle out when you either lose concentration (on a hit) or your next turn starts, wasting the spell slot
-When flanking a creature +2 is added to your roll to attack (not adv given)
-I will not have PvP in my quest. Do try to resolve tensions between players diplomatically, grappling is okay but no damaging spells or attacks shall be done to them. (AOE damage can be discussed OOCly and permitted if consented to)
-Please be present. During combat, if I don’t see activity within 5 minutes, I will have your character dodge and skip their turn. If this happens for 2 rounds, you will be removed from the quest.
-IRL happens, please communicate if you have to step away for more than 15 minutes outside combat
