A DM for nearly a decade now. Mainly have ran 5e 2014 and will keep using that ruleset for the foreseeable future. (characters made with 2024 rules are of course still allowed). I am a DM that likes to immerse myself and my players into the world through roleplay/worldbuilding and see combat as an extension of that.

I use discord and roll20 for all of my online games.

Personal preference: I do prefer people to have their camera/webcam on during the session, as one of the most enjoyable things for me is to see the look of surprise/horror on players faces, when something happens.
