Taran was foraging outside his Kobold den when we was captured and press ganged into fighting against pirates in Vaspellion, and took a fancy, distinct pair of boots off of a dead pirate captain that someone else killed.

Once his conscription ended, he now wanders around and sells his fighting services. He would also like to meet his fellow kobolds again one day.
