Vahram Nahrzadi, the Red Ledger was once a Sarzak scribe and court appraiser during the final uneasy years after the last war for the Belt of Tirva. Gifted with law, language, relic valuation, and diplomacy, he served as a neutral witness between Sarzak Nobles, Zilleesi envoys, Merchant Houses, and Bazagonian Newcomers.
During a failed negotiation, Vahram was murdered to hide a treaty violation. Rather than remain dead, he was sealed inside a lacquered black treaty chest and returned as a vampire. Elegant, patient, and transactional. Now he moves through the Belt as a night bound broker of favors, secrets, relics, and blood.
He profits from the region’s almost war. He does not want peace, but he does not want open war either. He wants tension. Caravans afraid to cross, nobles desperate for information, spies needing safe passage, and soldiers vanishing quietly before dawn.
Vahram is a Beguiler Vampire. He is charming, manipulative, greedy, drawn to magic, and unwilling to give anything without demanding something in return. His grave bound resting place is the large black chest he travels with, hidden among ledgers, burial linen, wax seals, and stolen relics.
His best regional ties are The Chain, Mirage, and The Academy. Of course the merchant factions of Tirva, all of which let him move through smuggling routes, courts, ruins, and border intrigues while remaining officially “invited”. The Belt’s tense Sarzalom and Zillikar conflict gives him exactly the kind of political bloodletting he thrives on.
