Found in the desert and raised by a nomadic halfling family. Lived a youth of struggle and ennui, until he crossed paths with an assassination. The killer looked at Eli with neither fear nor hate, but instead curiosity. Eli himself wasn't afraid witnessing the murder — fatal violence was already normal — and instead clapped at the killing of an infamous thug. The assassin found Eli later that night, and offered to initiate him into his order: the Brotherhood of the Meteor Blade (أخوة السُّيُوفِ الْهُدْلِ‎).

Before he was taught combat, Eli was taught to endure. The Brotherhood descends from a mystic order of stylites, and was made to meditate atop natural pinnacles and artificial pillars, standing and fasting for what would become days. Purified by self-denial, he was then baptized in his own blood. For a year and a half Eli has learned to wield twin khopeshes to carry out the Brotherhood's mission: delivering death to the wicked of Sarzalom.
