Appearance:
Terafin is an aging scholar, his frame worn by time but his mind as sharp as ever. His weathered hands, ink-stained and calloused from years of handling ancient tomes and relics, tremble with both age and excitement when he speaks of lost knowledge. His deep-set eyes gleam with an unyielding curiosity, though shadows of sorrow linger behind them—memories of past failures, of discoveries just beyond his grasp. He wears robes that once held the rich dyes of a scholar’s station but have since faded, much like the prestige of the once-great institutions he studied under.
Backstory:
Born in a humble village nestled in the foothills of Magnaland, Terafin was a sickly child, his earliest years spent in the care of wandering healers and hedge wizards. This early brush with death gave him an insatiable thirst for knowledge, particularly of medicine and alchemy, but his pursuit led him down paths few dared to tread. He studied under sages and charlatans alike, learning the forgotten arts of conjuration and illusion but also encountering the bitter truth—knowledge lost is seldom reclaimed, and those who seek it often meet grim ends.
Once a respected member of the College of Verathis, Zorak's takeover reduced him to a weakling in status and ability as the college was destroyed. Feeling his life running to an end of little lasting value, Terafin declared himself an Orc-Soul and set off to make a discovery and an impact in the world. Now, with nothing but his books, wits, and the desperate hope that secrets lost to time can be reclaimed, he strives to prove his orcishness so he may renew his research.
