In the heart of Douxel Vale, a delicate peace is held together by ancient treaties—laws that explicitly forbid the binding of intelligent Fey into mortal servitude. But the law has been broken.
Vexius the Saudade has called upon a group of capable adventurers for a mission of diplomatic urgency. A rare and cunning Enigma Cat was discovered bound as a familiar to a non-fey spellcaster. Now, it must be returned to the South-Western reaches of the Vale where the fey congregate, to face the judgment of the Queen of Cats herself.
The Cargo
The "package" is a shimmering, panther-sized creature of vivid fur and glowing eyes, currently pacing within a specialized containment unit. This is the Enigma Cat (EEE) and it is in no ordinary cage; it is a masterpiece of anti-magical engineering:
The road is long, and the cat is far from silent. While the iron holds its body, its mind remains free to roam. The creature will relentlessly probe the minds of its captors. It will plea, cry, and manufacture psychological "reasons" tailored to your specific vulnerabilities, all in a desperate attempt to be let out of its cage.
Deliver the wagon to the Southwestern congregation without succumbing to the cat’s mental influence or allowing it to be reclaimed by those who would use it for their own "personal jiggery-pokery".
Warning: Enigma Cats are highly prized wizard familiars and this one will be sought out.
Can you ignore the whispers in the back of the wagon long enough to reach the Queen of Cats?
