You have spent too much time within the walls of Myriada and have been curious what lies beyond the lantern line of its borders. For many years you feared you might never know, but all that has changed.
As Farwardens, each of you has been inducted, each of you has been tasked and each of you is to be sent out into the wild unknown, to seek for hidden places, to uncover dark secrets and to return with tales of glory or tales of woe.
Irilak the Seer
After being sworn into the Farwardens faction, Nayra the Halfer wizard and Bartoz, priest of the Lost, along with their two men-at-arms, Arlhen and Dulkast, set out eastward into the wilds. They first crossed the Eastern Fields outside of Myriada, passing by farms, ranches and mercantile buildings that supplied the city of tiers with food and necessities to keep its citizens clothed and fed, then then crossed the lantern-line and entered the Cluaran na Bantraich, (Eld for the Widow's Thistle hills) and found that there were five points of interest to explore and report on for the Farwardens Black Tome.
The first point of strangeness they came across was a shallow pit filled with old, worn out helms and boots - but these items were constructed for a far more harsher climate, one that protect one from ice and snow.
Next they spied a large nest built within the branches of a tree that stuck out of the top of a 30foot cliff. Bartoz and Arlhen climb up to see what was within the nest and saw three large eggs, one of which would certainly feed the four travelers for the day. Bartoz shimmed out, snagged one of the eggs and both he and Arlhen rejoined their companions on the ground, in time to take cover as the mated pair of wyverns whose nest they'd just robbed returned, their croaking roars expressing dismay at the loss of one of their eggs.
The four made their escape quietly and an hour later stopped to take a breather and enjoy some quick refreshment.
Next they came upon a wooden man standing in the underbrush beneath some trees, and approaching it, caused it to crack open, revealing a bestial creature that attacked. The fight was brief however, with some wounds taken but the creature slain.
Next, some time later, they entered a clearing to find a ring of eight pillars of green marble, shot through with veins of the deepest black. Examining the site, Bartoz perceived that this ancient site was once called the Pillars of the Sky-Mourners. In the center of this ring of pillars was what appear to be a cellar door embedded in the ground. Nayra found the door opened easily and the four descend into the dungeon below. Lighting torches and spells against the pitch black darkness they began to explore the chambers, moving warily from point to point, until, down a short flight of stairs they spied a short pillar with a ceramic bowl atop it. The bowl contained a silvery liquid, and Bartoz, attempting to determine what the liquid was, dipped his flint into only to pull up a tiny child-like Homunculous that howled and screeched and attempted to bite him before Arlhen sliced it neatly in half with his scimitar.
Moving into the next room, without first checking to see if it were occupied, Nayra found herself facing two ape-like creatures called Morlocs, one of them an Enchantress! Battle was joined and one of the Morlocs scuttled up the wall and grabbed Nayra in it's clawed hands trying to draw her up into its jaws. Bartoz and Dulkast engaged the enemies, as did Arlhen but one blow from the Enchantress's horned wand laid the fighter out, death knocking at the door. After sticking the first Morloc with an arrow, Dulkast revived Arlhen, and Bartoz managed to decapitate the male Morloc. The Morloc female attempted to flee after being damaged by Nayra's magic missile, but with a mighty blow, Bartoz forced her back into the room, where after she dropped Dulkast to the floor unconscious the priest of the lost managed to finished her by slicing her completely in half.
And here the adventure had to be paused, for the allotted time had been exceeded.
