Ugaak was born into a nomadic orc tribe whose ways prized strength and endurance, but no matter how hard her parents tried to raise her in the traditional mold, she could never match the raw power of her siblings and peers. Too weak to stand out in battle, she sought other ways to contribute, scavenging fallen adventurers for anything that might keep her people alive. Among blood-smeared gear and broken bodies, she found a spellbook, and it became her salvation. She devoted herself to understanding it, pushing her rudimentary trade knowledge of Common into true literacy and translating each spell into Orcish so that no other being could easily claim her magic. Though her parents disapproved at first, her growing combat prowess and ability to finally hold her own earned their reluctant acceptance- only for everything to be torn away when the Cataclysm struck during her coming of age ceremony, scattering the land and leaving Ugaak alone on the outskirts of Fregate.
