Quixnoks comes from the Ebonglass Massif in Exandria. A large community of kobolds called the Fang of the Worm lives in these mountains, performing rituals and digging out magical essence to try to wake their god Quajath, the Undermaw. Quixnoks is one of a small group of kobolds within that Fang of the Worm that believes that Quajath is only interested in consuming the flesh or souls of the kobolds in their service and instead believe that kobolds are the smallest of the dragonkin and could grow eventually to become tiny dragons themselves. Quixnoks is excited about the day when he may eventually reach these heights of dragondom but first he wants to soak up his experiences as a mere mortal before those days are gone.

Quixnoks has had an interaction with a dragon however. One day while wandering through the broken teeth of the Ebonglass Massif he stumbled and lost his footing, as he fell he tumbled across a rock face that crumbled at his touch as he scrambled for some kind of purchase to stop his fall. He accidentally unearthed a fossil and released the trapped spirit of a long dead silver dragonling who raced forth and flew through him on the way to finding Bahamut and home. The interaction left Quixnoks shocked and confused.. and still falling!!

Obviously we're talking about him so he did survive, but it was a harrowing journey down the mountainside and back up. Later, as he lay in bed, he realized there was an itchy spot on his chest, and some strange bumps on his back. On it's way through him and out of this plane the silver dragonling appears to have touched his soul, perhaps as a thank you, maybe just randomly, or even out of fear and anger. Whatever the reason Quixnoks appears to have some lingering marks from this interaction.

Confused, scared, and mostly excited, Quixnoks used this as the excuse he had always needed to set off from the Massif and find his future. Along the way Quixnoks encountered a fey creature, a small sprite, who he traveled with for a while. Eventually the two would influence each other, trading traits and abilities until their agreement had become quite formal in nature. Quixnoks had no idea who he was dealing with of course, but the fairie turned sprite was very interested in this kobold who might one day become a dragon. The tiny fey creature would teach him to levitate, teach him many new spells and cantrips, and even let him summon another sprite, a cousin, a lesser cousin, who would continue to travel with Quixnoks when his fairie friend was recalled to bigger things. Together the two would eventually decide to leave Exandria in search of other places and planes that they might not wish to visit once Quixnoks evolved one day into a dragon. It was on this journey that they heard of Luma, a place where they could meet many people from other worlds..
