Origionaly, Zapata was a Quorforged prototype built by the aliens known as the Quori one that had intelligance to see if there was a significant improvement his body was a proof of concept (POC). After his creation, He was armed and set out to kill Giants. And kill he did. While fighting the Giants, he found himself in need of a cloak. So, at the end of the next battle, He skinned a sizeable and thick part skin, had it turned to leather, dyed it black and turned into a large hooded cloak.

When the age of giants ended, in that erea anyways he continued to protect the area, However, when an Artificer by the name of Aarren d'Cannith found him, something changed. This time roles were reversed as it were. he was a working version of what the artificer wanted based on him a sentient Warforged was eventually produced successfully. After that they were mass produced.
Zapata chose to forgo his number when his friend, a Dwarf they all called Storm saw him save an ally and stabbed the enemy with his own sword, which proceded to be struck by lightning. Many nicknames came from that encounter, but Zapata was the only one that stuck. It didn't hurt that he liked that one the best.

His thoughts on souls are, Complicated to say the least.

After the second war he fought in, Zapata sought out an Artificer to give him more masculine features.
