Petrie is a Kobold that serves under the Dragon Lord of the Thunderstruck ridge. During his time as a training hatchling, he formed a psychic bond with Actias the Faerie Wizard. After coming of age and learning things from his Kobold mentor, Petrie found he knew very little about the outside world and needed to rediscover himself. So, he set out on an adventure with Actias, his only known friend from the outside world.

During his travels at one point, Petrie met a mysterious wizard Merchant that shared a rumor to him about Kraestrael, an imprisoned noble who was framed for a crime he didn't commit. He didn't understand too much about the world's justice system, but he has a mental note about this and hasn't mentioned it.

While out on a hunt, he was trying to find dinner for Actias and him. However, he ran into a black panther that tried to eat him. Turns out this panther was named Nyxara, and she belonged to a hunter named Lucian. He has come to respect his skill as a hunter and has rescued him from a mysterious shaded creatures that's somehow after Lucian.

Petrie hears that the current prize for a contest in the First Moss Festival is a peculiar egg. One whose patterns match the same eggshell patterns of his original eggshells, which he keeps in close by to remember his kin. Petrie is convinced that this is his sibling.
