Ser Branwyne is the last scion of his noble house. Once a small but prosperous fiefdom encompassing rich boggy wetlands full of happy frog people, it is now a dangerous overgrown and hungry swamp. Brannif was once of the earliest communities to fall to the scourge. those that did not become petrified fell to overgrown beasts. Many fought to preserve the Barony, but it was a lost cause. When the Baron breathed his last breath and succumbed to the stone sickness, the few survivors fled.

Ser Karock became despondent and fled to the backwaters to try to make a new start. He left his sister Guelena in the care of relatives in Haven.
