Chowder was born in Elmore, and her parents were one of the local fishers in town. She grew up learning and loving to fish as well as diving for mollusks. She soon discovered that her favorite were clams and tried learning all recipes related to them. Unfortunately, her cooking skills were not the best until she tried making clam chowder. It was the most successful she was at cooking as well as being one of her most favorite dishes. Chowder worked hard at perfecting her clam chowder recipe, and when her parents finally exclaimed that it was one of the best they've ever had, they suggested that Chowder show it to the rest of Elmore.

Chowder did so, and people throughout Elmore enjoyed her Chowder so much, she gained the nickname "Chowder".

When mayor Doug Dougal got terribly hurt in the forest and said that people need to explore the Plover Caves to fix the lure, Chowder imagined the possibilities that the cave might have for ingredients to enhance her chowder. She packed up her fishing pole, ready to adventure.
