On the way to Hartholm, the party gets ambushed by another party hired by Marek Harthorn himself. The party learn that they were called The Fangbearers, ​and ​that they were sent to prevent them from entering the city. A battle followed soon after and the Fangbearers lost three of their people. Aurelius prays to Aurum in hopes to bring back a seraph Fangbearers back from the brink of death. Aurum responds by bringing back the Aethernis to consciousness. The revived Aethernis was called Seres Dhal, and he hesitantly, ​temporarily, joins the Black Wolf party.

The party finally arrived in Hartholm, bringing Seres Dhal along for the journey. However, upon entering the city, Seres remained behind with Thalvryn, while the rest of the group pressed on with their mission.

A full day passed as the party rested at the local inn before setting their plan into motion. In order to expose Mayor Marek Harthorn’s corruption, they orchestrated a riot in the streets — using the chaos as cover to search for proof of his betrayal.

But before they could confront him, events took a darker turn. Amidst the flames and panic, Harthorn was slain by a mysterious Infernis merchant — the same man who had earlier sold the group a magical ring.

The streets of Hartholm ran red as the Cult of the Nameless Choir emerged from the chaos, cutting down guards and civilians alike before vanishing into the mist as quickly as they appeared.

When the smoke cleared, many lay dead, Harthorn among them, and the party stood amidst the ashes — holding the proof they sought, but faced with more questions than answers.
